Septic Pumping TruckWhy should you choose Rodenhiser Excavating for all of your septic needs?

If you are like most of us, your home is your largest investment. All homes sold in MA must pass a Title V Inspection of its septic system. Replacement costs can range from $15-$40,000.00 dollars, and in some instances even more.

Your septic tank is designed to separate the solids from the liquids. Pumping, if properly done, will extend the life of your system. Rodenhiser technicians remove all solid material every time they pump. This is not only critical, but it is the sole purpose of pumping. If you don’t remove the solids you are simply throwing money away.

Rodenhiser technicians verify that tank baffles are in tact, without baffles, solid material floating on the surface will simply flow directly into your leaching field. During pumping, Rodenhiser technicians check for evidence of septic tank surcharging in order to warn you of potential problems.

Common misconceptions and the truth about septic companies.

False: All septic companies provide the same service.
TRUE: Not all companies pump the sludge at the bottom of your tank. Removing solid material by properly washing down the system is the entire purpose of pumping.

False: Septic tanks need pumping because the water level is high, and then after pumping the level is low.
TRUE: The level of liquid in your tank undergoes minor fluctuations, but stays at basically the same level, provided that your leach field is operating properly. If the baffles in your tank are in tact, your tank level should not rise above the bottom of the pipe that exits the tank. If the water level goes over this pipe then you could end up with a blockage or problems in your leaching facility.

False: The cheapest company is the best value.
TRUE: Rodenhiser may not always have the lowest price but we have knowledgeable technicians who care about their customers and are committed to giving you the service and information that you deserve. They are polite, clean and professional. If a company doesn’t properly wash the system and remove all of the solids then they are able to pump for less money. They are providing a disservice to their clients.

False: Pumping my tank will kill beneficial bacteria.
TRUE: Yearly pumping will not harm your system in any way and it is, in fact, very beneficial to it. Normal bacteria exist on the roof of your system and this bacteria will rapidly reproduce after pumping.
